An Italian motorcycle racer from San Giovanni Rotondo who made his Grand Prix debut in 2003 and won the 2004 European 125cc Championship before returning to the world stage in Moto2 with Gresini, where he claimed a memorable victory at Valencia in 2011. He stepped up to MotoGP the following year with Gresini’s CRT project, then joined Ducati in 2013 as the factory’s official test rider, building a reputation as a key part of the Desmosedici development programme as well as a dependable wildcard and reserve rider. A ten-time Italian champion across Superstock, Supersport and Superbike, Pirro has remained a central figure in Ducati’s racing effort through 2026, and in recent years has also partnered with OGK Kabuto, including a limited-edition signature helmet released in 2025.
